Abstract:
|
Prediction models are often generated using time-to-event data, but many prediction measures, especially those conditional on final outcome status, are evaluated at a fixed time. We will examine measures of discrimination, calibration, and reclassification which account for survival data. We will present the results of a series of simulations to explore the type I error, power, and magnitude of effect for the comparison of models with and without a new added predictor under a range of conditions. We will also present the effects of various methods of handling censoring, including omitting censored subjects and counting the censored subjects as non-events, which have not previously been examined for reclassification methods.
