2024 ASA Biopharmaceutical Section Regulatory-Industry Statistics Workshop

The ASA Biopharmaceutical Section Regulatory-Industry Statistics Workshop is sponsored by the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section in cooperation with the FDA Statistical Association. Each year, the conference lasts three days, with invited sessions co-chaired by statisticians from industry, academia, and regulatory agencies. Short courses on related topics are offered the first day of the workshop.

ENVR Workshop: Spatial Data Science for the Environment

The ENVR 2024 Workshop: Spatial Data Science for the Environment is the biannual meeting of the Statistics and the Environment Section of the American Statistical Association, to be held in Boulder, CO, on October 3-5, 2024. The goals of the workshop are to (i) facilitate interdisciplinary research, (ii) present state-of-the-art methods, and (iii) develop the next generation workforce by hosting a poster presentation and a short course. The workshop will provide a platform for discussions on the current and future state of spatial statistics, invite scientific presentations on interdisciplinary topics, and facilitate new research directions and groups. Part of the workshop will focus on the unique contributions of and career of Doug Nychka, who is and has been a central figure in the climate and environmental statistics communities.

The program includes:  A full-day shortcourse on "Spatial Linear Models for Environmental Data" taught by Jay Ver Hoef, Dale Zimmerman, and Michael Dumelle. The course will closely follow the outline of their recently- published book of the same name.  Five scientific plenary sessions including presentations from 17 renowned scholars. The Friday afternoon session will directly discuss the contributions and influence of Doug Nychka, and the final Saturday morning session will feature Doug Nychka and colleagues Andy Finley and Joe Guinness.  A Friday afternoon poster session  A Friday evening dinner celebration  An optional hike to round out the conference at 12 noon on Saturday.

Big Data to Better Insights: A Primer on using Machine Learning Methods in a Data-Centric World

The amount of data generated as a by- product in society is growing fast including data from satellites, sensors, transactions, social media, smartphones and even thermostats, just to name a few. Such data are often referred to as "big data"; and can be leveraged to create value in different areas such as health, crime prevention, commerce and fraud detection, among others. An emerging practice in many areas is to append or link big data sources with more specific and smaller scale sources that often contain much more limited, but potentially richer information. This practice has been used for some time by survey researchers and social and political scientists to construct sampling frames by appending auxiliary information that is often not directly available on an existing frame, but can be obtained from an external source. The use of big data in other industries and sectors is also growing at a fast pace. But having the data alone does not guarantee that insights or understanding will follow. Careful consideration of data structure, type and volume are needed along with methods that can scale to accommodate the many cases or many variables scenario.

This course offers participants a broad overview of big data to allow participants to understand the need for alternate methods to analyze and visualize such data and then introduces the machine learning framework.

International Conference on Advances in Interdisciplinary Statistics and Combinatorics (AISC-2024)

As is typical with AISC conferences, we will feature special sessions covering a variety of contemporary topics such as Causal Inference, Design of Experiments, Survey Sampling, High Dimensional Data Analysis, Big Data, Data Science/Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Bayesian Statistics, Time Series Forecasting, Topological Data Analysis, Functional Data Analysis, Distribution Theory, Survival Analysis, Statistical Ecology, and Statistical Consulting.

Another important objective of the conference is to groom young researchers by providing them an opportunity to interact with established researchers in their respective fields. With this in mind, there will be several sessions focusing on undergraduate Research.

The 2024 Women in Statistics and Data Science Conference to be held in Reston, Virginia, will highlight the achievements and career interests of women in statistics and data science.

Senior, mid-level, and junior stars representing industrial, academic, and government communities will unite to present their life's work and share their perspectives on the role of women in today's statistics and data science fields.

Through formal sessions and informal networking opportunities, WSDS 2024 will empower and challenge women statisticians and biostatisticians to do the following:

Share knowledge by offering technical talks about important, modern, and cutting-edge research;

Bayesian Biostatistics Conference

The Bayesian Biostatistics Conference (BAYES2024) will take place from October 25 to 27, 2024, at VisArts, The Metropolitan Center for The Visual Arts, in Rockville, Maryland (USA). This three-day conference is cosponsored by the American Statistical Association and The Adolphe Quetelet Society, the Belgian official region of the International Biometric Society (IBS). The International Environmetrics Society Conference 2024

The International Environmetrics Society (TIES) is a non-profit organization aimed to foster the development and use of statistical and other quantitative methods in the environmental sciences, environmental engineering and environmental monitoring and protection. To this end, the Society promotes the participation of statisticians, mathematicians, scientists and engineers in the solution of environmental problems and emphasizes the need for collaboration and for clear communication between individuals from different disciplines and between researchers and practitioners.

2025 International Conference on Health Policy Statistics

Throughout the last 20+ years, the International Conference on Health Policy Statistics-organized by the Health Policy Statistics Section of the American Statistical Association-has played a vital role in the dissemination of health policy (and health services) statistics. The conference provides a unique forum for discussing research needs and solutions to the methodological challenges in the design of studies and analysis of data for health policy research.

ICHPS's aim is to create an interface for practitioners, methodologists, health service researchers, health economists, and policy analysts to exchange and build on ideas they will disseminate to the broader health policy community.

The theme for the 15th International Conference on Health Policy Statistics is Statistical Innovation to Improve Health Equity.

Bayes Comp 2025

The biennial Bayes Comp meetings are organized by the Bayesian Computation Section of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis. Bayes Comp 2025 is the fourth conference in the series and is hosted by the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the National University of Singapore. Confirmed keynote speakers are Sylvia Fruhwirth-Schnatter, Pierre Jacob and Emtiyaz Khan. The scientific committee welcomes applications for satellite workshops, to be held at NUS in the lead up to the main conference (June 16-17), as well as invited session proposals that will take place during the main conference (June 18- 20). The deadline for proposals is midnight October 31st (Singapore time), please see the conference website for further details. A call for contributed sessions and posters will be made in early 2025.
