The 2025 NBER-NSF Time Series Conference will be held Friday-Saturday, September 19-20, hosted by the Departments of Economics and Statistics at Rutgers University. The conference will be in person only. It will begin Friday morning and end Saturday afternoon. The NBER-NSF Time Series Conference has long been the premier annual conference in time series; it is particularly noted for bridging econometrics and statistics. It also features both applications and theory. Areas of application include, but are not limited to macroeconometrics, financial econometrics, climate econometrics, machine learning in time-series environments, among others. Registration opens June 1, 2025. There is no registration fee.

Bayesian Biostatistics Conference

The Bayes Pharma conference is dedicated since 2010 to advancing the application of Bayesian statistics within the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors. Its primary objectives include promoting Bayesian methodologies in biomedical sciences, showcasing practical case studies across clinical and non-clinical environments, and updating participants on the latest methodological advancements in Bayesian statistics pertinent to medicine and public health. Additionally, the conference aims to provide statisticians with opportunities to adapt to the evolving landscape of the biopharmaceutical industry. The National Science Foundation and the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences presents Regional Research Conferences in the Mathematical Sciences. This conference will expose early career researchers to cutting-edge research at the interface of applied mathematics and machine learning and also help identify new research directions and will foster the building of new collaborations between research groups in the Texas-Louisiana area and other regions. The 10 principal lectures will be divided into three modules. Module 1 consists of three introductory lectures on machine learning, e.g. deep neural networks and learning problems. The second module of three lectures will introduce important components of applied mathematics in machine learning, such as optimization and regularization. The last 4-lecture module will focus on the use of machine learning in critical problems in computational and applied mathematics, for example inverse problems and high dimensional partial differential equations. The principal lectures will be supplemented by a dozen contributed talks from participants, a poster session, a mentoring academic panel, and a panel that featuring researchers from industry.
