Bayesian Biostatistics Conference

The Bayes Pharma conference is dedicated since 2010 to advancing the application of Bayesian statistics within the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors. Its primary objectives include promoting Bayesian methodologies in biomedical sciences, showcasing practical case studies across clinical and non-clinical environments, and updating participants on the latest methodological advancements in Bayesian statistics pertinent to medicine and public health. The event spans three days, commencing with a training course focused in 2025 on Bayesian and Causal Networks for Clinical and Epidemiological Data. Seventh Seattle Symposium in Biostatistics: Causal Inference in Biomedical Data

The Seventh Seattle Symposium will explore contemporary issues in causal inference, a field that has seen massive expansion in recent years and is now one of the most active areas of biostatistical research.

Each day of the Symposium will open with a keynote address followed by presentations and panel discussions centered on a specific theme within causal inference (i.e., randomized studies, observational studies, data fusion, past/present/future).

Research at the Interface of Applied Mathematics and Machine Learning

The National Science Foundation and the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences presents Regional Research Conferences in the Mathematical Sciences. This conference will expose early career researchers to cutting-edge research at the interface of applied mathematics and machine learning and also help identify new research directions and will foster the building of new collaborations between research groups in the Texas-Louisiana area and other regions. The 10 principal lectures will be divided into three modules. Module 1 consists of three introductory lectures on machine learning, e.g. deep neural networks and learning problems. The second module of three lectures will introduce important components of applied mathematics in machine learning, such as optimization and regularization. The last 4-lecture module will focus on the use of machine learning in critical problems in computational and applied mathematics, for example inverse problems and high dimensional partial differential equations. The principal lectures will be supplemented by a dozen contributed talks from participants, a poster session, a mentoring academic panel, and a panel that featuring researchers from industry. Statistics and Data Science Workshop

The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and students from local and international communities, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field.

The workshop will feature over 20 talks presented in a single-track format, ensuring that participants can attend all presentations. Our program is designed to benefit participants at all career stages, from students to established researchers. Further, it will include:

MaxEnt 2025

For the 2025 edition of the MaxEnt conference, the focus will be the application of Bayesian inference and/or the maximum entropy principle to inference and inverse problems in various scientific and engineering domains.

Inverse and uncertainty quantification problems emerge in a wide variety of fields, such as earth science, astrophysics, material and plasma science, geophysical and medical imaging, nondestructive testing, density estimation, remote sensing, Gaussian process regression, optimal experimental design, statistics, machine learning, and data mining.

The conference invites contributions on all aspects of probabilistic inference, encompassing novel techniques and applications, as well as work that provides new insights into the foundations of inference.

The conference honors Professor Narayanaswamy Balakrishnan-one of the world's most prolific and influential statisticians-whose scholarship, mentorship, and service have shaped modern statistical science. With more than 1,600 publications and numerous books, Professor Balakrishnan's work spans order statistics, reliability, distribution theory, lifetime data analysis, multivariate methods, nonparametric inference, and computational statistics; his leadership has inspired generations of collaborators and students across academia and industry.
