Charge:
The Harry V. Roberts Statistical Advocate of the Year (SAY) Award recognizes the promotion of statistical reasoning by individuals who may or may not be statisticians themselves. The award was established in 2002 by the Chicago Chapter; in 2015 it became a joint presentation by the Chicago Chapter and ASA. The charge of the committee is to develop a strong set of nominees for the Roberts Award and to annually select the recipient.
Composition:
The committee has five members, serving for two year terms. Two members are appointed by the American Statistical Association and three members are appointed by the Chicago Chapter. No member may serve for more than two complete consecutive terms. One member each year also serves as the Chair, alternatively appointed by the ASA and the CC.
