Conference Information

The International Conference on Establishment Surveys (ICES) promotes discussion about a broad range of issues related to surveys of businesses, farms, or institutions. ICES features invited and contributed papers and demonstrations from around the globe that highlight new, improved, and upcoming establishment survey methodologies and technologies using census data, administrative data, and sample survey data.

Participants come from academia, government statistical agencies, private businesses, statistical associations, and other sectors with an interest in international best practice in conceptualization, design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.

The conference proceedings provide a historical repository of valuable information related to the conduct and use of establishment surveys.

ICES values its truly international character. The conference may take place anywhere in the world, although its official language is English. Participation is open to all with an interest in establishment surveys. Contributed papers and demonstrations are chosen solely on the basis of merit. To the extent the budget allows, ICES provides support to participants who would not otherwise be able to attend due to demonstrated financial need.

For the fourth conference in the ICES series, a special issue of the Journal of Official Statistics was produced (Volume 30, Issue 4). An issue based on presented work from ICES V is also planned.

The ICES series is produced through the collaboration of an organizing committee, program committee, and continuation committee. Detailed information about each ICES conference and conference proceedings can be found on the ASA website.
