While numerous opportunities for negotiation occur throughout a statistician's career, negotiation skills are not traditionally included in statistics and data science training programs. Further, it has been demonstrated that there are differences with respect to gender regarding initiating a negotiation and how a negotiator is perceived, particularly in the science and technology sector. To address this gap, speakers from both industry and academia will offer insights and strategies for successfully navigating various forms of professional negotiations. Topics discussed will include: essentials of negotiation, opportunities for negotiation in academia and industry, the role of intersectional identities in negotiation, and leadership skills across multiple contexts. * Sponsored by the Caucus for Women in Statistics
