Conference Within a Conference: A Forum for Sharing a Research and Education Agenda (306457)

This innovative panel session will create a conference within the WSDS 2019 conference. The panelists will provide the “plenary” sessions by briefly introducing opportunities for research on issues and concerns of the LGBTQ+ community and highlighting best practices for creating learning environments that are inclusive and respectful. Using the “Three Minute Thesis” model, session participants will then give 180 second concurrent sessions on their relevant research, educational practices supporting inclusion, emerging interests, and opportunities for collaboration. There will be time reserved for discussion at the end of the session. The organizing panel includes Emma Benn, Brittany Green, Wendy Martinez, Jack Miller, Miles Ott, and Suzanne Thornton.
