The transition from graduate school to industry has many learning curves, one of which is the practical application of reproducibility. In industry, projects long forgotten may suddenly reappear with urgent deadlines, and if you aren’t careful they can be back to haunt you. Many of the tools I have adopted in my recent transition to industry are focused on increasing my ability to reproduce my own work and thought processes, or my "self-reproducibility." We’ll discuss how these coding, organization, and communication tools can help us efficiently get up to speed on a project after time has passed, make the reproduction of our work easier, and make passing projects to team members a smoother transition.
