Membership with the American Statistical Association (ASA) is a powerful and valuable driver for creating growth and providing opportunity for those who are connected to the field of statistics and other related areas of study. Individual members gain connections to the statistical community, access to various publications, exposure to career and learning opportunities, and more. With over 19,000 members worldwide, the success of the ASA’s mission to, “promote the practice and profession of statistics,” depends primarily on its ability to support and develop members of the statistical community, and to inspire those members to make a difference in the world. The ASA Committee on Membership Retention and Recruitment is dedicated to both encouraging prospective members to join the ASA, and then providing resources and information that will allow them to maximize the benefits available to them as part of the ASA community. In this presentation, the progression through various stages of ASA membership is demonstrated, including information about specific benefits and opportunities that are available and useful for any prospective or existing ASA member.
