The Women’s Research division at our large community hospital supports collaborative research with resident physicians, fellows, faculty and attending physicians. Our research includes academic and perinatal PI-initiated research with the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) residency program and other hospitals in the community, assistance with fellowship research in the Division of Urogynecology, and a special collaboration with the Maternal Fetal-Medicine Units (MFMU) network. Our team provides recruitment, bio-statistical, and regulatory expertise for both prospective and retrospective clinical research from start-up to completion. Being one of the leading community hospitals in addition to serving as a large delivering center provides us the volume and diversity of patients requiring maternity care and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, in turn allowing us to conduct research in relation to population health. Successful research is then submitted for presentation and publication in high impact peer-reviewed OB/GYN and Urogynecology journals. Moreover, the MFMU collaboration brings leading national clinical trials in maternal fetal-medicine to our patients.
