The success of statisticians often hinges on multi-disciplinary collaborations. However, skills outside of those learned in courses can dictate the productivity of these relationships. In this session, panelists will answer questions about developing and maintaining collaborations and discuss advantages and challenges of being a female statistician in a collaborative. The panel will feature an early career statistician, Dr. Sarah Janse, a Research Scientist in the Center for Biostatistics at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she works on study design and data analyses with university investigators; and Dr. Heather Bush, Professor and Interim Chair for the Department Biostatistics at the University of Kentucky, where she serves as the co-director for Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the Applied Statistics Lab, and previously worked as a senior statistician for a clinical research organization. Lastly, a midcareer industry statistician will be invited to participate. This panel will be an opportunity for early career statisticians to ask their own unanswered questions about collaboration.
