One Statistician's Story of a Successful Analytic Career at CIA (304785)

*Barbara Nelson Stevens, CIA

Keywords: Intelligence, Career

As a PhD statistician, and daughter of a statistician Lloyd S. Nelson, who was among other things founding editor of the Journal of Quality Technology, I would like to highlight what a 30-year career at CIA can look like for women coming into the workforce with degrees in statistics or computer science. I began work in a small data science unit and have progresses through many different jobs to my current position which is the Department Chief of Data Science for the CIA's Directorate of Analysis. I'd like to give some career highlights and why working at CIA is a good choice for women entering today's workforce with data science skills.
