Statisticians at the Food and Drug Administration: Influence and Impact (304009)

*Dionne L Price, U.S. Food and Drug Administration

Statisticians working in the federal government are tasked with answering important questions that impact varying aspects of our daily lives. The job of the federal statistician frequently requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, analyzing and interpreting complex data, developing innovative solutions to unresolved problems, and communicating statistical concepts to non-statisticians. To showcase the relevant, meaningful work of statisticians in the federal government, this session will provide an overview of the role of statisticians at the Food and Drug Administration and highlight examples of statistical challenges and contributions within antimicrobial drug development.
