Innovation, data analytics, and Azure are at the heart of two highly successful Microsoft IT Data Decision Sciences Group (MSIT DDSG) initiatives that create a safer and more comfortable workplace for Microsoft employees.
• Working with Microsoft’s Global Security group, MSIT optimizes data from more than 25,000 IoT devices in 190 countries to efficiently manage security hardware equipment and predict when devices are about to fail, resulting in greater device uptime. A blanket of live security devices assures that Microsoft employees are working in the safest possible environment.
• In a separate project, MSIT works alongside Microsoft’s Real Estate and Facilities organization to make cooling and heating facilities smarter and more efficient through IoT and machine learning. This effort allows Microsoft to reduce its carbon footprint and increase employee comfort through greater predictive maintenance, climate control, and HVAC optimization.
This presentation illustrates how MSIT data scientists blend creativity, analytics and the Azure platform to produce solutions that enhance Microsoft’s working environment.
