Statisticians collaborate with researchers in science, business, and policy to develop and communicate new knowledge. However, it is often difficult for our collaborators – and, if we’re honest, it is at times difficult for us – to effectively communicate what can appropriately be inferred from the research and the uncertainty associated with these inferences. What are the causes of these difficulties? How can we overcome the difficulties and help others to do so? Experts on science communication will help us answer these questions in this provocative session and lead an interactive “re-write” of statistical representations in scholarly articles.
