The aim of this study was to use data provided by the Departments of Public Health in each of the six New England states to illustrate the changes in trends of the data since they were first recorded in the early days of the pandemic. Each state has its own COVID-19 dashboard to help inform decision makers and the general public of the ever-evolving status of the public health crisis. We created a new Tableau dashboard that displays the geography of the six states in relation to one another and compares the status of Covid-19 between them using metrics such as incidence rate, prevalence, and more based on definitions put in place by the US Center for Disease Control (CDC). In addition, ARIMA time series modelling techniques were applied to a time series of both Covid-19 prevalence data and incidence rate data, sourced from the Massachusetts dashboard, to create two models that produced accurate 1-week forecasts.
