Unsupervised outlier detection algorithms require to choose values for hyperparameters. Although the right choice is essential for reliable outlier detection, the algorithms provide little or no feedback whether the hyperparameters are well chosen. We turn the unsupervised problem into a self-supervised one where the choice of hyperparameters can be achieved in a similar way to supervised problems.
