K-Nearest Neighbors is a longtime method for regression and classification, recommender systems, visualization algorithms, and outlier detection. However, most modern implementations offer only the basics. With today's computational capabilities, we have an excellent opportunity to modernize the ways in which k-NN is used. Two specific refinements will be presented.
