This is a look at how journalists at The New York Times use data visualization and design in their work. When is the right time to visualize a story? What kinds of design decisions do we make? In particular, I will discuss The Great Flood of 2019, a piece which mapped the extent of flooding in much of the country that occurred over the spring.
