Designing Information Graphics for Communication (308084)

*Peter Bell, Pew Research Center

Keywords: information graphics, data visualization, plots, charts, design

Information graphics are a primary channel through which the Pew Research Center communicates its research findings to the news media, to leaders in government and business, and to the public. Our mission is to generate a foundation of facts that enriches the public dialogue and supports sound decision-making, so it's vital that our visuals are carefully designed for clarity and to minimize misunderstanding. This presentation will describe the Center's general approach and process for creating static and interactive graphics. Particular focus will be given to information graphics as a kind of writing.
