In this rapidly changing digital age, the needs of public data users are also changing. Public data users still want high quality measures, but they want to access them more quickly, explore them more visually, and share them more easily. Google Public Data Explorer is an open-source data visualization tool that meets this need by providing an interface for the public to create custom line, bar, scatter, and geographic visualizations of free public datasets and share them. In this talk, I will demonstrate how this powerful and dynamic data visualization tool makes it possible to interact with and explore large BLS datasets in an unprecedented way.
