About this session

The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies has been gaining momentum across all scientific fields. Veterinary science is no exception. This session will bring together experts from the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine and the veterinary pharmaceutical industry to discuss the advancements and applications of AI/ML in veterinary science. While developing and implementing AI/ML can accelerate scientific advancements, the evaluation and validation of these technologies are equally important. This session will explore the emerging role of AI/ML technologies and discuss challenges we face in their adoption. Our session will first feature two presentations to highlight the importance of data science and AI/ML in driving innovation in veterinary science and manufacturing. Following the presentations is a panel discussion among subject matter experts to discuss the challenges in adopting AI/ML in animal research. Attendees will learn how these new technologies are transforming the field and have the opportunity to share their insights and experiences.
