Population plays an important role in the economic growth and development of the country. The objective of this study was to find out the trends and determinants of mortality in Saudi Arabia such as crude death rates, child mortality rate under age 5, infant mortality. Neonatal and maternal mortality have also been assessed. The factors that have been used in order to assess their influence on mortality rates are Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at market price, Health Expenditure Per Capita, Literacy Rate, Urban Population, Life expectancy, and population size. The World Bank was the source of data used for the analysis. The methods used are correlation coefficient, scatter diagram and multiple linear regression to find out the strength of the variables in influencing mortality rate. Each of the components of mortality has shown a sharp decline during the last four decades. The results demonstrate a significant inverse relationship of crude death rate, child mortality rate and infant mortality with each of the factors included: GDP, Literacy rate, health expenditure and life expectancy. For future improvement on health issues, the country needs to expand health services as of needs.
