Patrick J. Cantwell
U.S. Census Bureau
Nowadays government agencies are encountering enormous pressures to disseminate information to the public in a timely and relevant manner, and more importantly, with high quality. This is not a small challenge, but calls for more adaptive and seamless approaches to major redesigns of federal survey programs. In this session, we will have three speakers discuss about challenges and opportunities stemming from resigns of three large federal survey programs which provide critically important information for policy decisions on federal funding for various government programs: SIPP, NHIS, and SDR. 1. Re-envisioning and Re-building the Survey of Income and Program Participation Jason Fields, U.S. Census Bureau 2. Redesigning the National Health Interview Survey Questionnaire Stephen Blumberg, National Center for Health Statistics 3. Expanding the Survey of Doctorate Recipients Wan-Ying Chang, National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics
