The W. J. Dixon Award for Excellence in Statistical Consulting was established in 2009, and each year "is given to a distinguished individual who has demonstrated excellence in statistical consulting or developed and contributed new methods, software, or ways of thinking that improve statistical practice in general". This panel brings together five recipients of this award. Through the lenses of their experiences and careers, these esteemed panelists will discuss the important issues of personal leadership and involvement in statistical practice. They will provide their viewpoints on increasing the impact of statistics one practitioner at a time, from personal growth through the development of statistical principles and standards to mutual exchange and respect in collaborative practice. An exciting feature of the session will be a moderated "lightning round" of questions from the audience. Anyone ready to be inspired to improve their personal practices and leadership in statistics should attend this session. Come and consider the career decisions you can make to enhance the organizations you serve and increase the overall impact of statistical practice.
