DHN-Social media plays a critical role in the dissemination of the information and the collection of relevant data during natural disasters. The design, collection, management, analysis, and implementation of the analysis can determine the effectiveness and validity of the these activities. The disaster response and the analytical resources must work closely together to ensure that the analysis is fit for purpose and meets the ultimate objective. This team will discuss this collaboration using 2013 Typhoon Haiyan Twitter data. In 2013, ACAFS requested SWB to help with a RME Strategy. SWB teams were organized, but one year later, a Memorandum of Understanding was required to launch the project. Important lessons learned: 1. take time to understand what the organization's requirements and 2. the level of experience the organization has to implement the program. Myanmar- The Global Community Service Foundation (GCSF) has partnered with SWB to conduct a survey comparing Burmese villages served and not served by GCSF. GCSF provides extra pre- and post natal care for mothers and babies in the Inle lake area of Myanmar.
