Induced Correlation Resulting from Respiration and Motion Correction Processing Operations in fMRI

Slight movements of a subject cause the function magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) signal to be affected, thus causing errors in the data. This can include small head movements or systematic movement from respiration. However, these movements can be edited out of the time series. Respiration and motion correction processing operations induce correlation of no biological origin. The goal of this project is to represent these processing operations in a matrix framework. The matrix form will help determine the induced correlation structure, in order to remove artificial correlations, and identify the true biological signal of interest.
