Abstract:
|
As COVID-19 slowly draws to a close, there is growing interest in the relationship between low-income job loss and minority proportions during the pandemic. Two main datasets containing information about low-income job loss and demographics, both at the county level, are integrated for this investigation. Differences in job loss by state and by industry in job loss rate and minority rate at the county level are visualized. A linear regression model is fitted to model the effect of minority rate and some indices controlling economic and educational status on low-income job loss rate.
