Official data releases on the labor market cover a lot of topics but can't cover everything. Many surveys are run to supplement the statistics from these releases. Researchers from academia, business, and government agencies who all have been involved in running such surveys on different aspects of the labor market discuss what they shine a light on beyond the monthly/quarterly labor market statistics released by statistical agencies. These include surveys on job search behavior, household expectations, participation, and employer compensation plans.
