Abstract:

Machine Learning is a fascinating field with rising interest in the past decade. In the research field, people tend to connect Machine Learning with state-of-the-art algorithms only; while in reality, Machine Learning usually manifests into a complicated system and itself becomes a product: such a product requires a data-driven perspective to be optimized for better performance.
In this talk, we will share how data science and analytics are leveraged to empower ML modeling and development process at Meta Platform, Inc (formerly Facebook, Inc): with three case studies, we will illustrate how advanced analytics are used to advance modeling exploration, streamline development process, and optimize resource utilization. We hope this could provide an industrial perspective about machine learning and analytics for the audience.
