Abstract:

The Pauli potential mimics the "Pauli exclusion principle" in the context of semi-classical Hamiltonians. Any two particles are expected not to share similar positions and momenta under this principle. Thus, a suitable Metropolis Monte-Carlo (MMC) sampling procedure is required to explore correctly the configuration space of the system. The investigation focuses on nuclear star matter, as it undergoes the "topological" transition to the "pasta" regime. We show that this regime still occurs if the Pauli potential is present. However, the way in which "pasta" cristalizes at low temperatures is in question. A regular structure seems to emerge, but the spin configuration is still under examination.
