Abstract

During the past two decades, with the integration of computer technology into science and daily life, the scientists have collected massive volumes of data, which have largely motivated the development of modern data science and many big data-enabled machine learning tools such as deep learning. The development of modern data science has also provided with computational statistics unprecedented opportunities and challenges. In this session some emerging topics in statistical computing, such as deep learning for computational statistics, scalable Monte Carlo methods for big data computing, and big data analytics in biomedical science, are expected to be discussed.
