Abstract:

Collaborative statisticians routinely bridge the divide between statistics and domain knowledge for their multidisciplinary projects, facilitating project aim achievement. The important contributions of collaborative statisticians are especially evident in their innovative responses to the tremendous challenge Covid-19 placed on their existing research projects. This panel discussion will highlight the exemplary contributions by collaborative statisticians committed to overcoming obstacles and ensuring the success of their projects. Discussants will share their perspectives from industry and academia. Panelists include: Ixavier A Higgins (Eli Lilly and Company, Covid-19’s Impact on Preclinical Project Work), Sonja I. Ziniel (University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado, The Advantage of Being at the Nexus as a Survey Methodologist and Statistician: Getting Survey Research Projects Completed at a Hospital During COVID-19), and Christina Mehta (Emory University School of Medicine, Creatively Revising Existing Clinical Research Studies to Address Covid-19 Challenges).
