Abstract:

The ASA Antiracism Task Force created the subcommittee for Promoting and Engaging Racial Inclusion to evaluate how the ASA's organizational identity along with its communication and outreach efforts support the organization's advancement with respect to racial equity. We narrowed our focus around four main areas: The ASA's brand which serves as the organization's foundation; internal and external communication mediums; internal collaborations and partnerships with other organizations; and funding mechanisms for diversity initiatives that promote racial equity and inclusion. We will share some findings in addition to opportunities we see for a better organizational future.
