The Canadian Journal of Statistics has been an important vehicle for research contributions on copulas. Over the years it has published more than thirsty papers on that topic. This presentation focusses on the emergence of copulas as a research topic in statistics as witnessed by papers that appeared in the Canadian Journal of Statistics. It highlights key developments in the theory and the applications of copulas through the topics treated in this journal’s copula papers.
