Abstract:
|
Over the last decade there have been several initiatives using data science for the public good embedded in academic and industry settings. Many of these efforts have created sustainable business models with the mission of advancing social causes in the United States. This panel will discuss how several organizations have incorporated a diverse range of statistical techniques and data science workflows in the services they provide. More specifically, we will discuss how the data science teams at these organizations answer questions related to targeted outreach for population eligible for government, health and financial assistance, their strategies in face of incomplete data and the technology that enables their work.
