Abstract:

As a former university faculty member turned private consultant, I am in an excellent position to work with many academic clients from all over North America. This includes students, faculty, and research staff who do not have other ways to access quantitative assistance. With no allegiance to an institution or IRB of my own, what are my ethical responsibilities? When is it appropriate to ask for authorship on a paper? And under what circumstances do I refuse to work with someone? In this poster, I will address these issues and others that have arisen in the course of private practice. All are invited to stop by and chat with me about my personal experiences.
