Abstract

In this roundtable discussion, we will discuss the role of statistics in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning theory, methods and applications. We will discuss the major activities in artificial intellegence, the links to statistics, how statistics is contributing to AI, and how statisticians can and should be more involved. We will also discuss relevant issues in student education and continuing education for professionals. Time permitting, we will also talk about the role of AI in precision medicine, precision health, and precision operations.
