Abstract

Journalism has always been viewed as a public service, and "data journalism" is no exception. Although the philosophy of data journalism is nothing new, practices have changed with time and technology, creating new ways of bringing quantitative information to the public's attention. In this talk, data journalist Christine Zhang will present a variety of examples from US local and national news, with special focus on the upcoming 2020 US presidential election.
