Abstract:

Since 2015, MassMutual's Data Science Team has partnered with academic institutions to further education, research, and community efforts in data science. In this work, we aim to attract a diverse body of students to the field, expand educational opportunities, and embolden data science practitioners working toward the public good. Multiple partnerships between MassMutual and institutions within the Five College Consortium have expanded investment in computer science education and enabled multiple community data science efforts involving students, professors, and industry professionals. As institutions across both industry and academia work to advance data science education and to expand data science efforts for the public good, MassMutual has found we make our best progress when public and private sectors work together.
