We review different approaches that have been proposed to propagate uncertainty from record linkage into subsequent analyses, with an emphasis on Bayesian approaches. We contrast their pros and cons, with an emphasis on data confidentiality, and present some examples of where they might have difficulty. We outline some open challenges in this area.
