Abstract:
|
Comparison of novel interventions vs marketed products are an important consideration in reimbursement decisions. However, in rare diseases some drugs are studied and approved without head-to-head comparisons. Network meta-analysis has been widely accepted as an approach to perform these indirect comparisons, but faces limitations especially regarding heterogeneity of populations and the requirement of a common comparator. Targeted comparisons using Matching Adjusted Indirect Comparison (MAIC) is one possible solution. This presentation delves into statistical and operational logistics of conducting such a comparison and submitting the results to support reimbursement.
