For persons with graduate level training in statistics, one career path that can be considered is running a private statistical consulting practice. Such an endeavor, though, is not without its set of challenges, some of which include finding clients, receiving appropriate compensation for services provided, protecting yourself from lawsuits, and maintaining your own ethical standards. For persons who are considering starting their own statistical consulting practice, it would be very beneficial to receive some advice from experts in the field. In this session, persons, who have been successful in operating independent statistical consulting and collaboration businesses, will share some of their thoughts and suggestions from their own personal experiences. Topics will include: 'Business Side of Setting up an Independent Consulting Practice,' 'Obtaining Statistical Consulting Clients,''Receiving Appropriate Compensation for Statistical Services Provided,' 'Effectively Communicating Statistical Results,' and 'Maintaining Your Own Ethical Standards.'
