The revised GAISE (Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education) College report outlined the importance of technology as a key component of a modern introductory statistics course. In this talk, I will define consider learning goals for such a course and pathways to the incorporation of technology to allow students and instructors to experience the entire data analysis cycle. The learning goals borrow liberally from aspects of data acumen identified in the NASEM 2018 "Data Science for Undergraduates" consensus report, including data technologies, data wrangling, visualization, inference, model estimation and assessment, multivariate thinking, confounding, and causal inference.
