Preparing middle and high school teachers to engage their students in rich data investigations often requires a shift in perspectives on ways of working with data and statistics. This presentation will share several efforts in creating and implementing online courses and materials for statistics teacher education. The focus of the talk will be on what learning experiences seem to provide critical opportunities for teachers to reconsider assumptions about doing and teaching statistics, and to develop new pedagogical strategies to use in their classrooms.
