Abstract:
|
Hospital acquired infections (HAI) occur when a patient contracts a disease in a hospital or healthcare setting. Ideal monitoring of HAI is would include genotyping each case, but that is prohibitively expensive. Here we examine the effects of genotyping a random subset of cases and demonstrate that the naive estimator is strongly biased and examine alternative approaches.
