Abstract:

This paper considers extensions and further applications of the graphical method called Compass Plots we introduced in 2000 (Budsaba et al.). The method combines the advantages of the star plot and ANOM. In contrast to the star plot, this plot allows statistical inference to be made both for treatment and for factor effects. In contrast to ANOM, this plot can be used for comparison in multiresponse experiments such as chemical mixture experiments. Extensions beyond fixed effects to mixed effects models are examined. A modification for nonbalanced designs is also illustrated. Physical science and engineering examples for potential use of compass plots are mentioned.
