In recent seasons, there has been a dramatic change in the rate of home run hitting and Major League Baseball recently commissioned a group of scientists to explore and suggest reasons for this phenomenon. There is new baseball data measuring the exit velocity and launch angle of all batted balls and we explore this data for recent seasons to learn about all of the different variables that might contribute to the increase in home run hitting.
