Abstract:

Estimations based on nonprobability samples pose challenges to researchers who want to draw inferences to a general population. From a statistical point of view, there are often concerns that estimations based on these samples might be biased. Thus, the aim of this research is to evaluate different weighting and complex estimation procedures applied to nonprobability samples. For this purpose, we conduct a simulation study that mimics common procedures of nonprobability sampling.
