Abstract:

As part of Statistics Canada's Modernization agenda, the agency is striving towards having a more user-centric delivery service. This includes providing greater access options that put data into the hands of researchers and policy developers who need them. Advances in methodology and technology permit Statistics Canada to leverage the spectrum of access options with fewer restrictions that currently in place. This paper presents innovations in methods to make data safer while limiting the loss of analytical value. New processes are presented that meet the challenges of increased access. All the while the methods and processes continue to respect the confidentiality considerations.
