Abstract:

The clinical trial world is very frequentist; the dogma of p-values and significance is woven in the many of the foundations of clinical trials. In this talk I'll describe what its like to be a Bayesian statistician in this space. There are a number of very natural applications of Bayesian analyses and designs in clinical trials. In this talk I will focus on the communication of the Bayesian approach, the challenges, and the opportunities. I will provide example in which the Bayesian approach has been applied in clinical trials, the results, how the are communicated and the challenges. Multiple examples will be provided.
